What You'll Do

• Architect and develop full-stack features for our AI-powered SaaS platform
  
• Design core backend systems, data models, APIs, and infrastructure with an emphasis on scalability, performance, and maintainability
  
• Translate business and product goals into clear technical plans and make high-impact design decisions in uncertain contexts
  
• Build frontend components that present complex AI and contract insights in intuitive ways
  
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering and product stakeholders to define priorities and execute effectively
  
• Own your work end to end, from planning through deployment and monitoring
  
• Help establish engineering best practices and shape team culture as we scale
  
  

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong record of system architecture and technical ownership
  
• Demonstrated ability to design and build complex backend systems or distributed services, particularly in greenfield contexts
  
• Proficiency with backend technologies like Node.js, Go, or Python, and modern frontend frameworks such as React or TypeScript
  
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
  
• A product-first mindset that prioritizes business impact alongside technical quality
  
• Clear and thoughtful communicator who can explain and defend architectural choices
  
• Self-motivated and comfortable working in fast-paced, high-trust environments with a high degree of autonomy
• Strong system design skills, including the ability to reason about architecture tradeoffs and whiteboard distributed systems

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems or LLM-powered applications
• Experience in legal tech or B2B SaaS

What You Should Know

This role is not an entry point into seniority. We're looking for someone who has already operated at a senior or staff level — someone who has led architectural decisions, mentored engineers, and owned systems from concept through scale. You should feel confident designing software from scratch and discussing tradeoffs in a system design session.
